Tutoring

Need help with a course? You've come to the right place! Tutoring is a great way to learn, so do not hesitate to seek help. You get to meet new people and build study groups, which is essential for academic success. Keep in mind that even the most talented individuals get stuck at some point. Below is a list of tutoring resources that are available on campus. If you cannot find what you're looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us! Also make sure to check the department's website to see if they offer tutoring if the department you're looking for is not listed below. Good luck!

Center for Academic Resources in Engineering (CARE)

The College of Engineering provides free tutoring for foundational math and science courses required for engineering students.  Tutors are stationed in the fourth floor of the Grainger Engineering Library (south wall of center area).  Please visit the CARE tutoring schedule for details.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact an academic advisor in 206 Engineering Hall.

Math

The math department offers free tutoring for Math 220, 221, 231, 241, 285, and 415. They also have a list of private tutors available, as well as other tutoring services both on and off campus. Chemistry

The chemistry department also has many tutoring options. For example, the Chemistry Learning Center has walk-in tutoring from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Students can just "drop in" at any time for free tutoring by graduate Teaching Assistants. Please visit their tutoring website for more information. Physics

The physics department currently has only private tutoring services. Remember that you can always go to the course website for the course that you are taking and attend the office hours that are listed for your particular course. Office of Minority Student Affairs

OMSA provides many academic services which includes free tutoring to all students for more than 160 courses, review sessions, and study skills development. You can sign up for a tutor with whom you will meet with regularly on a one-on-one basis or you can take advantage of their extensive walk-in tutoring hours. Other Tutoring Services

There are several other tutoring services available. Honors Societies such as Tau Beta Pi , Sigma Gamma Tau , Eta Kappa Nu have tutoring services. Please visit their respective websites for schedules and details.
